Intermediate filming - 5 weeks

Prerequisites: Having already attended a beginner's session, knowing how to center on the wheel and understanding the steps (throwing, trimming, glazing)

Duration: 5 weeks
Frequency: 1 three-hour class per week
Level: Intermediate (see prerequisites)
Age: 16 years and over

 General objectives of the session

• Improve technical turning skills (larger pieces, complex shapes, finesse).
• Further refine the finishing and turning process.
• Develop a personal artistic language.
• Introduce more advanced finishing techniques

What we learn through this session

Exercises: Cylinders & bowls with thin walls.

Create a mini-series (2-3 identical cups or bowls).

Semi-enclosed pieces (e.g., oil cruets, bud vases) and wheel-thrown plates

Decorative techniques using engobes and the Sgraffito technique

Creating a personal project

Glazing of all pieces. (Your personal project may take longer to dry; in this case, you can return to glaze it once it has been fired.)
